Awwww, re: duck. What a sweet story.
I remember that my dad rescued a raven with a broken wing when I was a child and it wintered on our balcony (under one of the wicker chairs until the wing healed) and it flew away in springtime.

Also, I had a post written for the Living OutLoud thing but was to ill to post it in time, so duh for me and looking forward to the next one.

At least your dad didn't have to carry a barfing duck out to use the bathroom. Is there some sort of Powell/creatures-with-inner-ear-problems connection?
