They never tell you that those first months after you have your baby you are, for all intents and purposes, non compos mentis. The hormones continue to rage long after we give birth, and yet it seems no one ever really talks about it.

I, too, suffered from a deep-seated and soul-sucking resentment for just about everything but my young son and ever-patient husband (but even they were the target of an occasional grumble). For whatever reason, it was my therapists simple statement, "The opposite of resentment is gratitude," that pulled me out of the abyss.

You'll get there, too. And I'm so glad you're feeling better.

I'm so glad to hear about the laughs and the smiles and that you were feeling better. I hope the days continue to get easier and the smiles keep coming. If you ever want to chat, just let me know.

Don't be hard on yourself for feeling bad ~ sometimes it is just damn ok not to feel good and to not feel horrible for not feeling good. Does that make sense?!

I'm sorry it's been such a struggle lately. No great words of wisdom I'm afraid, but you've got my number and I'm always a good ear for a rant if you need to get stuff off your chest. I promise I won't try to solve anything. I'll just listen and make understanding noises.

Glad you're feeling better. I know from experience that prescription drugs can be a useful tool in helping to address a biological condition. Just remember that, like drugs for high blood presssure, they address symptoms, rather than underlying causes.
